As the VoIP market continues to push ahead at great speed we are now seeing all of the major companies in the sector wheeling out their latest handsets in time for the Christmas market.  The Linksys SPA962 VoIP Phone is the latest from the Linksys stable, and while it may not be the easiest to set-up, it is actually a very good handset which is sure to do well.

The first thing which will strike you, like the better VoIP phones, is the fact that it is indistinguishable from a more traditional landline offering.  The high quality 320 x 240 colour display offers an array of information which is both instant and easy to read.  However, the six line capacity of the phone is one of its main selling points in what is commonly known as a “business class” handset.

As you would expect from the VoIP handsets of today, the Linksys SPA962 VoIP Phone has all of the standard call hold, mute, phone book, conference facility and built in speaker.  The navigational system is very easy and the handset offers a number of programmable keys.  While broadband is not a necessity for your VoIP connection, it is by far and away the best option, allowing ultra quick transfer of data – the data being your voice!

For those not sure how VoIP works, it actually converts your voice to a digital package which is pumped up and down the internet at high speeds.  The data is converted back into sound at the recipients end enabling a traditional landline style phone conversation.

All in all the Linksys SPA962 VoIP Phone offers a very impressive business like service, and while VoIP is set to grown and develop yet further rover the years, the Linksys SPA962 VoIP Phone offers a high level of service at an affordable price.
