Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for the PS3 is the next title in the series of Pro Evolution Soccer games, being the seventh game within the series.

As the most recently launched game in the series, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is taking full advantage of the technology offered by the PS3.  One new feature is the newly developed adaptive AI system, which is called Teamvision.

With Teamvision, the AI learns the player’s style of play in order to make adaptations to how it responds and interacts with the player.  As a result, the player will need to develop new methods for building attacks and for countering movements made by the AI.  Players will also find that they need to make adjustments to their attacks and will need to learn from their defensive errors.  In this way, the video game should be more like the real game, in which tactics need to be continually evolving.

A complex edit mode has also been included with the latest version of Pro Evolution Soccer.  With the extensive editing feature, players can make changes to the team kits, names, and more.  Edits can also be made to the player statistics, allowing the player to develop a completely customized team.

The newest addition of the Pro Evolution Soccer series also provides the player with more control over aspects such as dribbling.  As a result, players can develop some new plays that will make it possible to more effectively beat the defenders.

Some of the stars of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 PS3 include Michael Owen of Newcastle United and Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, plus many many more.

Several teams are included in the Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 version.  These include:

AFK Athens FC
AIK Fotboll
Bayern Munchen
Benfica
Besiktas JK
Boca Juniors
Celtic FC
Dinamo Zagreb
Dynamo Kiev
FC Basel
FC Brugge
FC Copenhagen
FC Honka
FC Porto
Fenerbahce
Galatasaray
Hammarby IF
Helsingborgs IF
IFK Goteborg
Internacional
Lokomotiv Moscow
Olympiacos Piraeus
Panathinaikos FC
R.S.C. Anderlecht
Rangers
Red Star Belgrade
River Plate
Rosenborg BK
Sao Paulo FC
Spartak Moscow
Sporting Lisbon
Wisla Krakow

Leagues featured in the game include:

Dutch Eredivisie
French Ligue 1
Italian Serie A
Premier League
Spanish Primera Division

The main rival of the Pro Evolution Soccer game is FIFA Football.  Although the sales of FIFA Football are similar to those of Pro Evolution Soccer, most gamers agree that the Pro Evolution Soccer series offers more advanced realism and gameplay.  In addition, it offers the editing feature that is not available in FIFA Football.  The only real advantage that FIFA Football has had over Pro Evolution Soccer was the licensing and authenticity of the professional teams, but Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 goes a long way toward correcting this problem.

Awful. They should remove evolution from this title and replace it with stagnation. For a once fanatical PES gamer, I'm totally sick of the series. The sad thing is the lack of competion image

Well, unfortunately i have to agree with everything which has already been said. I used to love the last 4 versions of Pro. I couldn't wait to buy this when it came out and WHAT A MASSIVE DISSAPOINTMENT!!! Its hardly changed from the last game. The Music is HIDDEOUS!! Master League Screen is something from the Spectrum 48k. No New Stadiums, whats going on with the balls!!??Blue??Seems like Konami couldnt be bothered to upgrade it!! I have a ps2, the graphics on the new game haven't changed, really poor crowd graphics, players still bumping into each other and running in strange directions, standing in a wall half way up the pitch when defending a free kick. When you try shooting from angle the ball sails miles over the bar, WHATS THAT ALL ABOUT!!! Fifa has adapted to most of the pro evo buttons and has great ideas when the player without the ball makes a run when pushing a certain button, pro evo players run beside you. I also bought Fifa this year and its so much better. Graphics, Music, Master League, Commentry, Player Movement, Realism. I cant believe it but im afraid Pro is going back to the shop for the firts time in 5 years. Fifa has finally taken over. image

This is the most shocking Pro Evo game so far, PES 5 being the ultimate, PES 6 it went slightly down hill, and this one is just awful. Seems like it has been rushed so they can compete with FIFA, but PES was always better than FIFA because of the realism, this game has none of that. Its tried to be clever, and hasn't worked. I am not sure if its only me, or if the whole game is completely flawed by its joltyness. I am so disappointed, Konami need to go back to their roots and produce a realistic gameplay, I couldn't care less if Ronaldo looks like the actual Ronaldo, I just want him to be able to play like him! image

After playing evo for the past few years i have to say that this is one of the worse. Its far too easy to score, every tackle resuls in a foul and whats with the blue ball !!. I will be trading this in and returning to the good old fifa image
