Toshiba L30-10Y Laptop Review

Many people like the Toshiba brand; if you are one of the Toshiba fans then you are in luck when it comes to laptops. Toshiba has made many successful laptops over the past several years and the Toshiba  L30-10Y is definitely one of them. No matter if you'd like this laptop for school, work, your personal business or for a lighter gaming laptop, this laptop not only will do them all, but it will do them at a faster than normal speed, too. First, however, the Toshiba  L30-10Y comes equipped with and Intel Celeron M processor.

Even though this processor has been known for its trouble spots and lack of quality, it is comparable to the Pentium IV, however, is definitely slower and gives less of a performance than a Pentium IV or other better processor. But just because the Intel Celeron M 430 processor was chosen doesn't mean that the computer is totally worthless. On the contrary, there are several things about the Toshiba  L30-10Y that make it what it is.

For example, the 1.86 gigahertz of the computer's processing speed is a little above normal and close to comparing with a 2.0 gigahertz laptop. Even though it may only be a little bit slower than a super-fast laptop, it still has enough speed to watch DVD movies, play CD quality music, as well as have many applications running at the same time. In fact, the Toshiba  L30-10Y comes with a dual layer DVD rewriter multi-drive, which means both CDs and DVDs are able to be copied through the software that's either provided or you can download from the manufacturer's website. That amount of hard drive is certainly larger than normal and will probably hold more than you'd really need if you’re the average computer user that has a good amount of songs or movies to store. A business professional would probably also be able to hold most, if not all, of their very large documents, since 80 gigabytes is pretty large.

As far as the RAM goes, the Toshiba  L30-10Y comes with 512 megabytes, which is also a step up above some of the other average laptops. So if you are looking to play high quality games like The Sims 2, you probably most definitely will be able to do so because of the RAM and the graphics card that comes installed. The graphics card contains 128 megabytes of the ATI x200 graphics, which is just about the amount, if not more, that many of the high graphics games need to run on.

The new Microsoft Operating System Windows Vista also comes standard on this laptop, which is great for anyone that needs to keep up on the latest Microsoft product. The trouble, however, with getting such a new operating system is that not all products and software may be compatible with it at first, but everyone is sure to keep up in an effort not to disappoint any customers. Altogether, though, the Toshiba  L30-10Y is a great laptop for gaming, music downloads, as well as business professionals to keep up with any and all of their work!
